The short dance film Inearthia (2006) by the Swiss Compagnie Collateral is an attempt to turn the earth around – in order to escape gravity. Because of the continuous tilting of the camera, the viewer has almost the same experience as the man on the screen who is resisting a fall into the abyss. The choreography and the powerful execution of this choreography make this film really convincing. The movements of the dancer and the way the choreography is filmed add value to the work – a value that never could have been achieved on stage. The music is special as well, giving the feeling that one is on a train riding around the earth which has to brake in order to arrive at a complete standstill.
